Hello from the Smokies
My name is Stephen and I live in East Tennessee.
Got into kilts several years ago but had to step away when my son was born.
I favor millitary/tactical style wear but I love traditional kilts and tartan patterns.
No clan affiliation that I know of so I usually stick to black watch, Irish National, and tartans with no clan affiliation.
Looking forward to talking kilts, DIY, and sharing pics as I'm able.
Thanks.
Stephen

Hi, Stephen, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
Avoiding clan tartans is not a bad idea for someone without an affiliation, but don’t forget about district tartans. Well over 40 US states have their own tartans (official or otherwise), and many smaller districts in your country have them, too. There is bound to be one you could wear with pride.
Regards,
Mike

Welcome Stephen to a wealth of knowledge from another member of the Rabble raised, reared and run out of Upper East Tennessee--although I wasn't kilted at the time.
