Hello from Somerset, UK.
Good morning all,
Just a quick hello and introduction. My name in Justin, aka Leclerc, I'm 47 years old and live in Somerset on the North coast on the border of Devon in the South West of England.
My interest in wearing the kilt was first sparked as my Grandfather served with the Gordon Highlanders in WW2 and I wear a Gordon's regimental kilt in his memory.
I've joined the forum because, as you can probably imagine, not many people in the deepest darkest West Country have any interest in kilts let alone wearing them.
I look forward to reading and posting to like minded people.
Kindest regards
Leclerc

Welcome, from Inverness-shire. In times past, I used to spend quite a bit of my time in the Porlock, Winsford, Exford, Dulverton area.

Welcome, to you, from the coast of Norfolk,
From someone who was born in Somerset, 'cos dad was posted to Colerne at the time.

At a guess Q, were you by any chance born in Bath at the "Royal" which was/is still(?) in Somerset? Colerne is in Wiltshire.

Well met Justin. Glad to have you with us. You may be the one person to spark interest in kilt wearing in your area (or at least an interest in the history of the garment.)

You don't half get around Jock...
Yes and No. I was born in Bath but at St Martins hospital, there being no available married quarters at the time, Dad rented a flat in Bath, 7 miles from Colerne. The Flat was 21 Walcot Street, which if google has got it right is one of these,

Both the Royal and St Martins still exist and I believe are back in Somerset, Bath having wandered off into Avon for a while.

Welcome from Ireland. There is obviously some interest in kilts in Cornwall but obviously that is not strictly England. I was well received in Somerset on a recent visit sporting a kilt
