Hello - from South Louisiana
I suppose that I have lurked in the corners for long enough; no will ill intent just not sure that I had much to add.
I have though taken advantage of much knowledge from so many members, willing to share so much; thanks to you all.
Anyway, figured it about time to add what little I could, or at least be a bit social.
I reside in South Louisiana (USA) near Baton Rouge. With the exception of the occasional parade, I have yet to see another kilt out and about, however I wear one of several, frequently. Though my job will not allow kilts (due to the need to enter production areas at times, which requires full length trousers per applicable safety policies), when not at work I'm typically kilted.
While this grew over time due to my wife's initial resistance - she is very accepting now as she has witnessed firsthand nothing but acceptance and approval from everyone else, neighbors, strangers, etc.
Couple that with the fact that I would probably not wear them out nearly as often if it at all bothered my children; however both (and their friends) think that its "way cool" that their dad wears a kilt.
Well, again HI -
Layne

Hello Layne, and welcome to X Marks from lower, slower, Delaware. I liked your introduction; thank you for sharing.
My kids also think that dad's wearing the kilt is "way cool" (especially in winter up here). However, my grandkids just think it's normal.
I'm glad decided to cast your lot with the XMTS kilted rabble and I look forward to contributions.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. Thanks to all for the warm welcome. Not so sure that I qualify as a true highlander, however I do enjoy my growing collection of kilts, both traditional (well, semi-traditional) and modern.
Hope to continue to learn more and maybe contribute a bit.
