    Hello from Switzerland

    Hello dear forum,

I am a costume maker from Switzerland.

Last year I made a tour in Scotland and ended up buying some tartan fabric to make myself a kilt. Because why not (and because it's pretty cool).

It's only last week that I finally took out the fabric off the shelf and started working on it and soon my tartan caused me some problems with the pleating... ^^
So did some research and found this forum. I'll go and read some and if I can't find my graal I guess I'll come back again to find a good soul willing to help

    Cheers,

    Finngarh

    Hi there fellow Schwiizer.

You'll probably soon find out that the number one single resource on kiltmaking is our own Barbara Tewksbury's "The Art of Kiltmaking". (http://www.celticdragonpress.com/)

    Good luck with your kilt!

Well met and welcome Finngarh. I'm sure the other costume makers among this crowd will be happy to give you tips on the construction of their own kilts. I wish you good luck and hope you will keep this group updated with your progress. Glad to have you with us.

A warm Scottish welcome from middle England.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
