    Hello from Upstate New York

    Hello All,

I've visited this site off and on for a couple years. Joined a couple weeks ago. I have really enjoyed the wealth of information on this site. My particular interests have been in the Traditional and the Historical areas.

I have been wearing a kilt off and on since the mid-70's. So I tend to be traditional in how I choose to dress. I have gone through most of the Traditional posts. I read everything Jock Scot and OCRichard have to say. I recognize OCRichard from the Dunsire Forums.

I have the greatest respect, admiration and envy of Mr. MacDonald's posts on historical wear. While not so much interested in his thread counts of tartan (important as that is tho have documented), it is obvious that different areas had styles of setts that predominated, which I find very interesting. I have been interested in reenacting since the late 1970's. I had (still have) a belted plaid from back then when those of us wearing one could be counted on two hands and have some fingers left over. The plaid still fits but the tartan coatee, not so much.

I am getting my pipes back in playing order, and have a little Gaelic.

And Stephanie from the Ozarks - Great Avatar!

    Best regards to all.
