Hello from Vermont
Hello all,
Greetings from Vermont. I’m an active kilt wearer since this year. Like so many I am passionate about kilts and my heiritage from Canada. I look forward to many conversations on this board.

Here is a photo from a few weeks back. I am in the middle with the style I am most comfortable wearing. Another XMark member "Roadkill" is on the right of the photo. He has a kilted charity event each year that I attend. His style fits the activity of the day. When I am kilted and working, I look more like him (just not as big or happy with the chore). The gent on the left is Eric, the bagpiper that performs at this event. He has learned to modify his attire for the environment in Mississippi.

Well met and welcome Clarke. Please give us an idea of the circumstances where you have been kited in public. New or potential members like the read of situations they may have not considered for themselves. I look forward to conversations with your input in the future.

Good question—I wear my kilt out on a regular basis. Unless I need to wear a coat and tie for an interview, I’m usually kilted.
Vermont is supportive of kilts. I think I’ve only seen two people wear them out like me. We do have a pipe band and by the looks most wear the kilt for performances only.
I’ve had a few ignorant remarks but subtly corrected them. It’s usually people who look ignorant or giving me a hard time. Oh well, they’re missing out. Of the positive, people sometimes ask me what clan or strike up conversations with me.
If I’m not dressed up, I typically wear a t shirt and sporran for the store, but if going out for the pub or looking professional, it will be a dress shirt, etc.

Welcome from Central Texas
Glad to have you with us! I have family right next door in New Hampshire, but none wear kilts.
Welcome aboard,
