Hello from Washington, DC
Dear X Marks members, long-serving and new,
My name is Joe and I'm from Washington, DC. I've been lurking for a bit, but why!? So here I am.
That's the Connecticut state tartan in my avatar; that's where I'm from, originally.
Alexis Malcolm is making me a kilt just now in the Polaris tartan, in honor of my father who was an officer in the US Navy Submarine Service. I'll be wearing it at a dinner in Edinburgh in September, so I will be reading a lot here and will be grateful for your advice on all the kit. Basically the only thing I have is a pair of brogues and likely a shirt and tie. Otherwise, I need it all.
I look forward to getting to know you and apologize in advance for any "noob" questions.
Best,
JB

Welcome and don't worry about asking noob questions, we've all been there ( I haven't been here that long either). This is definetly the best site on the web for kilted related things.

Well met and welcome Joe. I hope after you have acquired all the kit to flesh out your ensemble, you'll post photos to give future members a perspective and comparison. I have no doubt you will be fine. Glad to have you with us.
