Hey Y'all from the boondocks of Florida
Hey Y'all,
I came across this site while looking for information on making kilts. I am currently making kilts for my husband and 4 boys. I will make kilts for the girls next (for highland dancing.) The children decided that they want to participate in highland games and have been out in the back yard cutting down trees to toss and the others try to catch. We live outside of Naples just before the Everglades. I come from a long line of Welsh, Scots, Irish, and a wee but of German. My Grandparents said that when our people reached America that they vowed to never eat of sheep again and they haven't. We eat fish and steak.
When I get my USB ports working again I will post pictures of the kilt I made for my 13 year old. I had him try on the kilt to see if I had the waist right (it had over a hundred 2 inch long pins in it) and he would not take it off even though he was being poked with the pins. He even wore it to Celtic dance class with the pins in it. Of course it did not help that the girls went nuts over him. I had to threaten him with burning the kilt if he did not give it back for me to finish. He has been in a black mood ever since. Well I have to go this son of mine just asked to go over the fence to get a bigger tree to toss. I wonder who will try and catch it today?
I look forward to gaining wisdom from all of you on this site.
Anne

A warm Scottish welcome from not far away in Derbyshire.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
