Hi from Finland
A newbie or a lurker from Helsinki, Finland...I haven't post anything but I have read quite much from this forum.
I wear my kilt (Black Watch) every now and then and I have just spent all my money to budget Argyll outfit from buyakilt.com. Tartan is Heritage of Scotland and I'm going to wear it in my good friends wedding. I'm not sure what people are going to say about it because I don't have any relations to Scotland, but actually I don't care. Kilt is very comfortable piece of clothing as you all know.
What to say...I'm was born old (I had a grey hair) as my grandmother says and I have had to use walking cane since I was in my 20's. I also smoke pipe and enjoy good single malt whiskeys so maybe I was a Scot in my last life - or an Irish.
So much about me. I'm quite sure to find ideas and great tartan recommends from here.
And please forgive me my English, I speak it better than write.

...and don't worry about the English; I'm a native English speaker and used to teach English both as literature and as a second language, and you're doing really well. I give you an "A".

Welcome from Lake in the Hills, Illinois!
Don't worry about your English, I'm sure we can all understand what you are trying to say, in fact you are doing better than a few I've known who are native to the language!!

Well met new friend. Even if you were born old, a kilt will make you feel young and alive. The people at the wedding will see the spark of a Scotsman in your eye. Welcome.
