Hi from the Lowcountry!
What a nice surprise to find this site and forum! I'm a newbie from Beaufort, South Carolina. My family and I attend the Charleston Games and Gathering at Boone Hall Plantation every year and have an amazing time! Nothing better than a weekend full of men in kilts, especially when one of them is your own! I come from very strong Scottish ancestry and love, love, love learning the history and traditions of the people.
I've been married to my firefighter guy for 17 years and we have 4 amazing kids. They are also learning the history of Scotland and love attending the games as well. This year my 11 year old son plans to wrestle at the games, should be interesting! I would love for him to become an athlete in the heavies! He's definitely built for it! If there's anyone else in the community living in the Lowcountry area let me know! I'd like to find some other events to attend close to home.
Thanks so much for starting this great community!

Hello and welcome from the other side of the Savannah River!
The Savannah Scottish Games are early (first Saturday in May, or thereabouts) but you should check them out next year. I've yet to make it up to the Charleston Games but hope to this season!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! From those of you across the pond and across the river! LOL Carter, you should def. come up for the games on Sept. 17! My sister went to the Savannah games this year and loved it. I'm coming next year for sure. Let me know if you'll be able to make Boone Hall, we can meet up!
