Hello everyone. I'm Cheryl, from Montreal island, QC, Canada. I'm of a mix western european decent, but my Scottish history is the most colourful. My family is related to the McGills but we don't have a tartan or a crest of our own so I wear their's. My ancestors were deported in the highland clearances and once again in the deportation of the loyalists. Though some of my family fled west and weren't departed from the States. I've had on and off interest in Scottish culture in the past, but I had to get a kilt in Edinburgh when I went on a european trip with my family last summer. I'm a piper in training on top of that I began on chanter in september and got my pipes in April. Oddly enough it was some bagpipe queues in the "How to train your dragon" soundtrack that inspired me to play the pipes.
