Hi from So Cal
Hi! I am new to this group, but it seems like a great group. I have been going to Scottish games for a couple of years, and am having a blast. At my second games I bought a black utility kilt, and slowly accessorized it. I just bought my US Army tartan semi-traditional from US Kilts and am looking forward to the Vegas games next month.
I am in Riverside, California. I am married (33 years to the same woman - she must be a saint!) 2 sons, 2 cats, 1 Harley.
Retired (I think) school teacher, amateur astronomer, active in community theatre.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Well met and welcome Chuck. I bet there are a lot of things we have in common (you mention, but don't elaborate on, yet) the US Army tartan being one. I hope you enjoy your new kilt and have fun wearing it. Glad to have you with us.

Welcome from Beyond The Orange Curtain!
I'm in Tustin right here in SoCal.
Hope to see you at our local Games!
If you're not plugged into the Highland Games scene, the Southern California Highland Games season goes like this:
February: Queen Mary Scottish Fest, Long Beach
Memorial Day Weekend: United Scottish Society of Southern California Highland Gathering, Costa Mesa fairgrounds, Southern California's largest Games.
June: San Diego Highland Games (held in Vista)
Labor Day Weekend: Caledonian Club Of San Francisco Scottish Highland Gathering (held in Pleasanton in the East Bay). Yes not in SoCal but they're California's oldest and largest Games and many of us in the SoCal Scottish community attend every year.
October: Seaside Highland Games, Ventura

(Hope I do this right. First response to a comment)
I do most of the games - Didn't do Queen Mary this year. Heading out to Vegas in April. Always do Vista and Ventura. Costa Mesa is tough - I am in the West Coast Thunder tribute on Memorial Day (8,000 Harleys paying tribute to those who gae the Ultimate sacrifice.)
Thanks for the Labor Day heads-up.
