Howdy from Argentina
What to say -
45, father of two now adults, married to an Argie, from Arizona
Worn a kilt before, expanded a bit, now dropping back down and looking into it again. Issue is, money is crap in this country and the only thing I could afford until I get back stateside is something with a bad rap here so it puts me in a pickle (sick of all my jeans blowing out in the, you know - cheap denim here, all seconds with very low quality).
Not into utility style, love the traditional.
Hot rods, old motorcycles, Armored Combat, old Metal are mostly my interests.

I share your liking for the traditional!
Welcome from a Scotsman living in the English Midlands. Hope you manage to find a good, but affordable, outfit.

Thanks all
I am debating pricing fabric and seeing how bad I can mess it up and get better, I understand the concept, wife has the tools - just need to find a good tartan material.
So many thoughts in my head, I apologize for thinking out loud here, but I figure someone can point me in the right direction if they see it or stop me before I burn the house down.

Greetings from, iffy sunny, California. At least, our area. My reason for becoming a forum member was for information & insight. AKA, how not to look, too, wrong. I, usually, try deferring to those with more knowledge. Saves headache, cash, embarrassment, et cetera.
Question....are there hot rods in Argentina?

Hot rods here, yes, but no if that makes sense. There is no real hot rod culture and what is here is copy/paste like everything else. Stuff has a five year lifespan and is all fads, everything they know is from the television or movies....
Tools are cheap Chinese dollar store quality. Parts are near impossible to find and if it does need to be shipped from the US, gotta figure out how to get around the embargo. I can get an inline or slant six before I can find anything for a V-8 - forget big block. They get their pricing information from Barretts and don't understand that it is rusted junk and I can only rat it and put a tractor motor in it so anything above 500 USD (2500 ARS) is silly for a body and 1K (2000) for a rolling chassis, I won't budge for their 2000K (10,000) price on a rusted husk.
A sportster (HD entry level) is 35K USD, I sold my 72 shovelhead to help my brother pay for my father's funeral for 4K USD....
I have been building cars and bikes with my pop and uncle since I was a toddler
Oops, I am pretty hostile to things down here, not a fan at all of 99% of what goes on here, wife is just scared of the US because of what the media tells her about how the US views Latinos. I am only here for her and the dogs (as soon as I figure out how to sneak the dogs into the US, we are gone haha). No chewing tobacco (not snuff, chewing haha), no root beer, whiskey is too expensive to import and only 40%.....
I am not a bad person, just hate it here
