I have already told a little about myself in my nebie question thread (was supposed to be "newbie" but I guess I couldn't spell then). I am new to this board and new to wearing kilts. My Great Grand Father wore his kilt and played the pipes though. I only knew him for a short time - he died when I was 8. I have always been curious and proud of our family's gaelic ancestry (both Irish and Scottish), but I haven't seriously thought about wearing the kilt until my friends and I started the Black Watch Scenario Paintball Team. For those that are curious - we have their official permission to use the name, colors, symbols, tartan etc. In December 2007 my wife and I joined a local Celtic Heritage Society and we have learned a lot about traditions. We are very active and are looking forward to seeing what the future holds. We are planning to hold a festival later this year. Hello and welcome to the forum from a fellow Texan!
Another big from Chicago. I think the idea of a kilted paintball team is awesome.

Welcome,from Inverness-shire.
from the Valley of the Sun! Hope you post some pics of your paintball team. I had the pleasure of living in the Bluebonnet state for over 3 years from '84-'87 - about 2 1/2 yrs in San Antonio & about 9 mos. in the Big D area (Heber to be exact). I never made it over to Longview, but the few times I drove through east Texas (on I-10) I was surprised by all the pines. Is it wooded like that around Longview? .
