I Finally Bought My First Kilt!
After talking about it for years, I finally bought my first Kilt. In reality, I bought two. I bought one from Damn Near Kilt 'Em and I bought the 5.11 Tactical Kilt. I can't wait to get them and wear them!

Alright, it’s a free world that we have the privilege to live in and we can on the whole and within reason, buy and do what we wish. But in all honesty, why do some of you chaps want so many kilts?

Well Jock, there are the family tartans, and then there are the national tartans... and then there are the sales on the ex-hire kilts which are great for wearing out and about... then the utility kilts instead of jeans... when the Renn Faire is in town, there is the desire for a great kilt... before you know it there are 10 of them to choose from...in your closet!

Well, I know I just purchased my first two, but I already know that there is an official tartan for my military service (Navy), and I am in the beginning stages of my Masonic journey so I'm going to need a kilt in the official Masonic tartan as well, so that's 4 already.
Not to mention some tartan patterns that I just like.........

Well I did ask! Thanks chaps for your replies and fair enough. I could, might and possibly do have as many of the same type of “justifications” as you for having several kilts, but my two kilts, one some 40 years old and one newer one about 10 years old of the same clan tartan seems to do me and most of us over here, pretty well. Any more just seems rather excessive to me. I think we get around many of the same types of reasoning by just changing our ties. It saves a lot of cupboard space and cash!
