I should be kilted any day now...
...but first, I shall introduce myself.
I'm a 17 year old Ontario high school student. I've wanted to own, and wear, a kilt for a while, being half Scottish. Unfourtunately, I've been poor and jobless until recently, and my parents did not feel like spending over $100 on a kilt. Then I joined the Army (reserves), and my money problems are now over. I had my parents buy me an Olive Mocker Utilikilt while I was in Meaford training this summer, hoping to wear it on the first day of school. But it won't be here for a while.
So a week ago, I bought a Stillwater Nightstalker kilt, along with a sporran and some other accessories. Assuming that customs doesn't raid my kilt like they did my candy that one time, I should be getting it soon. And then I can go kilted to school.
So that's my life story. I currently have a list of a number of kilts I wish to purchase in the future, to increase my kilt stocks. I'm hoping to end my school year kilted almost 24/7. Perhaps I will donate my trousers to goodwill. Or my three younger brothers.
Only a few more days (or hours) to go...

That hasn't been a problem since I got jacked up by the RSM for not standing straight enough on my graduation parade in Meaford. I had to literally bend over backward to please him.

yep, that was me, 17 year old Ontario high school student, working for the merchant marines in the UK, when I bought my kilt. A long time ago, in a galaxy....

Great to hear, I wish I'd known baout kilts at your age, I had to wait till I was an old geezer to learn of the beauty of kilts.
Ontario is on my list of places I'd like to visit, sounds like a fine place.

I've liked kilts ever since my mum signed me up for some sort of highland dancing thing when a was just a wee lad (4 or 5). She bought me a nice tartan skirt, not a wee little kilt, but back then I didn't know the difference.
There are some nice places here. I especially like Niagra Falls. The falls are bloody amazing, although the city looks like a mini version of Las Vegas.

WELCOME!
It is truly great to hear that you are kilted earlier than most of us here on the board. Most of us old guys may just be a little jealous that you are wearing the kilt sooner than we did.

And I'm jealous that you old blokes have your kilts already, so it all balances out.

Welcome Volrath!
Sounds like you are on a great path, just one suggestion. Instead of donating your old trousers to your three younger brothers, how about helping them to get kilted! :-D What a great example that would be from a big brother, aye? Anyway, welcome and hope you'll enjoy your new kilt (hopefully it will be there soon) and your time here in the forum!
Joe
