I will be buying my first Kilt this weekend, what all should I get first?
kilt, belt , buckle, sporran, socks ? is that a good start? I will be going to the St Andrews Highland Games in Livonia Michigan this weekend and while I am there I will be purchasing it all ! Any thoughts?

Hello Dreuke and welcome from Southampton UK. You seem to have all the basics covered, what I would say is buy the best you can afford. If you have the addiction then you will be spending much more in the years to come. Better to start out with good stuff rather than replace it in a few months.

I would be wary of buying a kilt on site. Who do you plan on buying your kit from? BTW welcome to Xmarks from northern Wisconsin

Welcome from another XMarks newbie. I would seriously consider contacting someone from a company and asking their advise before buying. I have asked questions of Rocky at USA Kilts on a couple of occasions and he was the most friendly and knowledgeable person. It would be worth it and his kilts range in price to fit almost everyones wallet size.

Grizzly has provided good advice, as has cable scot. Purchasing a kilt and accessories definitely benefits from research and this was the right place to come to.

Welcome from Anchorage, Alaska! Consider a casual kilt from USA Kilts http://www.usakilts.com/kilts-and-pa...sual-kilt.html they are reasonably priced and I have a friend who has one he loves. I just ordered a five yard wool one from them and they have been great to deal with.
