Irish included
I'm a 61 year old Irishman, been Irish all my life but only recently fell in love with it. Got my first kilt 3 months ago and I can't really explain what it means to me yet. I've worn it at Celtic gatherings and to the corner store once. Coming home from the store I walked past a gentleman in my community and he said he was Scottish and wish he had one of his own. I am married and all the kids are on their own. If you haven't guessed I was born in the states, but so far I have been to Ireland twice. I work nights so when communicating the timing may be off. It's great knowing so many others are in love with the kilt. Last names Conner.

Re: Irish included
Thanks for your responces. I didn't mean to but I found something written by an x member about an e-mail responce he received from a person from Ireland living in the states. He gave what is probably the general feeling by the majority of Irish about the kilt. They aparrently feel the kilt to be an invention of the Scottish for the American Irish market. I don't know what percentage of my blood is Irish but I know where my ancesters came from and Ireland is the place of my families origin. It is simply a fact that there are many Irishmen and Irish ladies born in the states, who love Ireland and one way they show that love is through the kilt. Now if you were born in Ireland and you can laugh at that, you have a problem.

There are many Irish born people who wear the kilt myself included.
Many Irish born people are ignorant of Irish culture and Irish history. I think it's fantastic that people like you take an interest in their Irish heritage.
