I've journeyed down the rabbit hole...
...Or, for a movie reference (for those with an affinity for the great Mel Brooks), I've gone to plaid.
Wait. Is plaid a curse word here? 
Hello!
I've been wanting to get my own kilt for ages as I grew up around kilts and pipe bands and Scottish folk (and my father being from Glasgow).
And now's the time! I've recently decided to put a ring on it (it = my wonderful fiance, whom loves Beyonce, so she's fine with being an oblique third-person neuter pronoun) and intend to go full Argyll or maybe Prince Charlie for the wedding. I've now delved into the process by starting my hunt and I've tumbled into this site. Great to know it's run by a fellow Victorian! (I grew up in Saanich, live in Vancouver, currently on a self-imposed sabbatical in London).
As titled, what I thought would be a relatively straightforward process (Go to Scotland, buy kilt), has turned into quite the adventure my naivety hadn't quite prepared me for. Nor the fact I'm super finnicky coupled with the burden of being slightly more sartorially inclined than the average fella.
Looking forward to learning more and getting advice that I've already noted is quite plentiful 'round these parts!
