Just Another Newbie
Hello everyone. My name is Jeff and I'm new to the kilt world. I'm one of the newest members of the Bagpipes & Drums of the Emerald Society - Chicago Police Department. I'm a prospective piper who has been taking lessons for a short while but this is something I have wanted to do for about 6 years.
I'm a detective for a department located about one hour south of Chicago. Departments in my area would like to start a regional honor guard, complete with pipers and drummers. When this happens, I will be tasked with designing a uniform. I'm using this site to help me understand some of the history and meaning of different kilts and tartans before doing so.

Hello and welcome
I have little doubt you will find everything you would need to know about designing a uniform for the pipe band here in time.
