Kate from Highland
Hello
My internet name is Kate or Katie (a derivation of my real name). I am Scottish on both sides of my family and have been doing geneological research for the past few years. Since then I have become obsessed with rediscovering my Scottish ancestry and am trying to read as much history as I can.
I have been belaboring the proper way to choose, purchase and dress in Scottish celtic garb both for modern and historical accuracy. I stumbled upon this website during my many internet searches and I hope to learn here just where to begin.
I purchased a Galloway tartan and made a sash and ordered a minisash of Cumming Modern tartan...that's the extent of it so far. I hope by the end of this journey to have a full wardrobe...and that is where I will be needing help.
The jury is still out on our clan but it is looking like we are from the Cumming clan and so that is what I am working with now.
Looking forward to meeting you all.
Many blessings, Kate.

Hey, Kate.
As a woman you can wear pretty much whatever you want and are not "bound by the rules" like we hombres are.
Welcome aboard.

Welcome from metro Chicago, Kate. This place is not only informative, it's fun. One minor complaint...too few lassies, but that state seems to be improving.

Welcome aboard.
Just remember that the whole tartan thing isn't Rocket Surgery, and you'll be good to go; foremost, wear what looks good to you.
