Kilt Konfusion?
Greetings All,
I too am a 'fresh meat" here on the forum (Sorry the "fresh meat" is from my former navy time).
The question I would like to pose is the following:
On dressing in more formal attire, the belt and buckle are not worn with the sporran, jacket, tie, hose, flashes, footwear, shirt and kilt?
I have seen many photos of gentlemen wearing the belt with Argyle and Prince Charlie jacket formal wear. Is this correct? Incorrect?
Is it just up to the individual?
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Robert

In my view the belt can be worn only if you are not wearing the waistcoat, however I think the waistcoat looks much better.

Welcome to the forum!
My understanding is that the belt/buckle is not worn with a waistcoat/vest, as the buckle makes the vest ride up and not sit correctly.
Happy kilting!

First of all from Arizona. Secondly, I don't think anyone is considered 'fresh meat' on this forum- but newbie is ok. Third- to answer your question as best I can- Belt and waistcoat do not go together usually. Hope this is somewhat helpful.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
