Kilted Mom?
I'm Kizmet, the mother of a kilted-wannabe.
Prestor John posted a link to my blog wherein I discussed my son (code named D'Argo) and his desire for a kilt, and his lack of funds.
Several of you have stopped by with kind words of encouragement, for which I thank you.
I am also an aspiring novelist, working on a science fiction thriller where two of the main characters are kilted mohawk warriors. If you visit my blog, you'll see many references to the progress of this novel.

Welcome to the forum!
May I suggest you take a look at www.stillwaterkilts.com they have a fine line of reasonable priced kilts and accessories. it's a great place for one starting out and for the old ( ) hands too.
Thank-you for being an encourager to your son and I wish you the best for your novel.

Iroquoian men wore kilts more often than the breech. In this case, the kilt was like a philabeg.

Welcome aboard to you - and your son, if you decide to expose him to this extremely addictive pursuit.

From Prestor John's son, of course. He's my son's best friend.
