Kilted In South Dakota
Hello all!
I have been browsing around on the site for several weeks now, finally decided to post.
My name is Josh Sinkie, I live near Mt.Vernon, SD, USA. I am married. My wife's name is Amber. And we have a beautiful 7 month old daughter, Brynna Rae. I do have Scottish blood in my viens, although not 100%. My grandma's grandma was born in Edinburgh (family Stirling) and imigrated to the US, along with her father and brothers.
I finally got my first kilt this last weekend, the day before our first ice storm/blizzard of the year (great timing for a first time kilter, don't you think?!). I ordered a casual from USAK in the Scottish National tartan. I absolutly love it (much love to Rocky and Kelly!!), but have not yet braved the outdoors. Maybe this week, it is supposed to get up into the 20's or 30's. I aso have to convince my wife, as she is a little hessitant to be seen in public with a man in a "skirt", esspecialy since I will be the first person kilted in our area. I have only seen one other kilt around here, and I recognized the young man as a piper from the other end of the state. I will let you know what happens my first time out.
I would like to say that thus far I have really enjoyed reading all the posts, I have learned a lot. It is great to see that I am not alone in wanting to wear kilts for everyday attire.

P.S. I would be very interested in an Xmarks kilt pin. Can you tell me where I could get one? --J

Josh,
Welcome to a great corner of the web! The best site for a kilt wearer, although it can be as addictive as wearing the kilt itself.

A big welcome, Josh. Nothing like a blizzard for testing a kilt!

Josh,
WELCOME!
It sounds as if you are already enjoying wearing the kilt, that is good.
For some advice while reading the posts, just sit back have some liquid beside you ready to sip, but by all means do NOT have any any your mouth while reading, as it may be hazardous to your screen.
Again welcome.
