Kilted Virgin from Idaho
Hello XMTS!
I'm new to the forum! Here is a bit about me. I'm Chris Verkerk of Meridian, ID. This kilted thing is completely new to me. I'm not Scottish nor Irish. I'm actually Indonesian/Dutch. Where I have the connection to the kilt is through my employment. You see, I'm a Engineer/Paramedic for the City of Meridian Idaho. Last October 14 members of our fire department started a Pipes and Drums Band - Meridian Firefighters Pipes and Drums. We are now on the pipes and have our kilts ordered. We choose the Fallen Firefighter Memorial Tartan and 13oz 8 yard kilt from USA Kilts. We are "jonesing" to get our kilts here. Rocky tells us they should be here between now and the end of the month (October/2009). Can't wait to get kilted and wear it proud! Along with learning the pipes, I also started making various leather products for the band. We wear a traditional leather helmet which has a leather shield on the front of the helmet, I made 14 custom helmet shields for the band's parade helmet. Then I decided that we needed custom sporrans, so I was selected by the band to make our custom day sporrans which sport a custom logo and all hand made with leather! Anyhow, hopefully I can post some pictures soon. That's about all for now, thanks for the great site and forum!

Thanks for the warm wishes! Can anyone give me a quick lesson on how to post pictures here from your computer? Or do they need to be from a web site only?
Thanks!
