A long overdue Hello
Hello,
I joined this site about 2 years ago and discovered the X-Kilt instructions, and have been bitten by the sewing bug.
The first two kilts I made followed the instructions fairly faithfully and were made from cotton fabric.
Since then I have used three different fabrics and make them with wider aprons; the last two even have a stabiliser, canvas and a lining; and I am also experimenting with different buckle configurations.
Two more pieces of fabric are in the post, and I am having a go at making some waistcoats.
So a very big Thank You to this site and particularly Alan H.
And a word of encouragement to anyone who wants to have a go - if I can sew a kilt that vaguely looks like what it should look like, without any prior sewing skills then so can you -go for it, you may find you rather enjoy it!
Terry

Welcome Terry,
Your story sounds much like mine. Alan got me started as well . . . both in making kilts and joining this forum.
Now, you do know the rules about pix, right?
