Long time gone
Hello!
I've been gone from this board for a long time. Although I wore nothing but kilts for three years, I've mostly gone back to wearing trousers, though I do break out the kilt from time to time (gaining a few pounds has made this a little harder...). Maybe if I keep checking in here it will inspire me to wear the kilt more often again.

Andrew: Welcome back. If you don't mind me asking, why the change back to wearing trousers? Was it voluntary or compulsory (eg work related)? If you do mind, please ignore my prying.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

No problem at all.
I think when it comes down to it, sometimes trousers are just easier. Sometimes I just got tired of answering all the kilt-related questions. Don't get me wrong, I love wearing the kilt, but on a day-to-day basis I now think that it's easier to wear trousers. I also feel that maybe after three solid years I proved that I *can* wear a kilt all the time (including 6,000 hardcore backpacking miles), so now I don't have to do it all the time. I don't know, it's sort of hard to explain and I'm probably not doing a great job of explaining it.
Besides, my wife gets jealous of the attention I get when I wear it. ;)

Hello and welcome back Andrew. Yup, I can relate. If I could live in a place where kilts were the norm (is there such a place?) I'd wear them all the time for their sheer comfort. But it is tiring to have to "explain" one's dress style to others all the time when not attired as the natives. Would that there were a place where people just accepted each other no matter how they happened to hang cloth on their bodies. Congratulations on your posts!!!

Andrew: I understand, ... especially the last part. I simply remind my wife that she's just going to have to get used to it. And then she hits me in the head ... again.
6K backpacking miles?! Wow. Did you do a transcontinental hike? My grand total probably isn't one tenth of that. Good for you.
