My first post and Story
Hello to all, My name is Scott W. Arnold with a sir name of Arnold it does not put us in a large Clan. However the name does appear in the books I have read on Scotland, more than likely we were a bunch of thugs living on Campbell lands. We would have been made to go off and rape, pillage and, plunder for the Clan Campbell. Makes me kind of proud!! My father enjoyed Scottish heritage and from a young age I grew up around bagpipes. In the hay days my dad owned two sets of pipes a set of Roberson’s full silver and ivory, his other set was a 1910’s ivory Lawrie's. Sadly at 84 my fathers piping days are over, his pipes were passed to other owners that my dad feels will be worthy of them. The rest of his collection was given to me to try to find them a good home. I don’t really know what the collection is worth. I was hoping someone here might be able to help me with this task. I wish I had a couple thousand to give him and just keep it for myself but I don’t. So that’s my story. Thanks for reading. Scott

Hello Scott. I am also an Arnold. I have been told we originally came from Northern England and migrated to the Scottish lowlands 500 or so years ago. Not sure how much of that is true for your branch of family, but welcome to X-marks.

Hi Scott, and welcome from Tulsa Oklahoma. You say that your "needing help" with the "rest of the collection". What IS the rest of the collection?

Hello Scott and welcome from Dorset in the UK. I've got a good splash of MacKellar blood in me, a noted Campbell sept, so perhaps our ancestors were on the same raiding parties? ;)

Any information is welcome and appreciated. In truth the sir name “Arnold” is German or English in origin but, if Scottish we want to be then Scottish we be. J Growing up my father was good friends with a MacNeil so his personal kilt is from their clan MacNeil of Barra. Scott
