New from Alaska

Howdy!
My name is Kevin and I'm interested in kilts. In my search of the interwebs, this forum was recommended. My home is Anchorage Alaska. While not as extreme as the interior, daily wear of a kilt here is a problematic endeavor. I would like to do so and that is where I'll need advice. It gets -20f (-29c) several times a winter. Sometimes colder! The wind isn't always blowing but it does often enough.

So, I will continue to look over the threads here and see what help is available. I also look forward to good conversations about things kilt enthusiasts discuss (within the rules of course).

Welcome from the highlands of Central Massachusetts. I have a 22oz repro gorden highlander kilt from What Price Glory that has done me well in some pretty fierce weather. Don't know about -20 though.

Just a point though, Moderators, even though spread around the world, cannot be available at every minute of the day. The timing of both Richrail's and your posts took place when at least two of us were sleeping the sleep of the just.

And Alaska is at least 9 hours difference to the UK.

At -29C, without wind, uncovered skin can freeze in 10 to 30 min according to Environment Canada. Protect those knees (and anything else you value)!
