    Question New to Celtic dress

HELP! My significant other has decided to have a Montrose Doublet made and I need to make something to match it. What in tarnation do I (a woman) wear that is the formal match to it? I know what material he's using, but I don't know what pattern to use!!!!

    Please help!

    Jeburr,

    Welcome to XMTS!

The Panache Law of Fashion says that:

"The little black dress trumps the finest kilted outfit"

Wear an elegant (black) evening dress and pin a sash of matching tartan.

    Kinda of like this

You hardly even notice me in this picture

If you don't fancy a "little black dress" then go for a longer more sophisticated evening gown (but keep the sash) .

Trying to make a matching tartan gown isn't going to have the same impact.

    Hope this was of help

    Cheers

    Jamie

    Jeburr,

Yes, as sash is more than acceptable. You could also have a sash from your right shoulder and then pin/bow on the left hip. You could also have a long tartan skirt.
