    New from FL

    Hello all,

I have been lurking the board for a few weeks, thought I would say hi.

First off, I got my first kilt several years back at the McMurdo Station Skua, wore it to a party that night and was hooked ever since. I haven't been able to figure out the exact tartan yet other than it is Welsh. It usually gets worn for running (ON-ON) now-days.

I was delited a few weeks back when my brother told me kilts were encouraged for his upcoming wedding. I spent the last few weeks tracking down some Antarctica tartan material and need to get my kilt made. This will be my formal wear so quality is important if you have any suggestions on who could make it.

    Welcome aboard.
Both the Arctic and Antarctia Tartan are readily available. The Antarctica through "The Antarctic Heritage Trust". I just ordered a kilt length of it yesterday.
But it is increadibly expensive. I was quoted at 290.00 British Pounds plus shipping and duty.

Are you familiar with the two Hash House Harrier Tartans?

Yeah, the UKAHT has both...and yeah, it ain't cheap. Waiting to hear back from Alexis Malcolm on how much she will need.

Did they say how long it was going to take to ship?

I do know about the H3 tartans but I am spending enough money for now. I'll get to it...eventually.
