New to the Forum
Hello everyone,
My name is Casey McGahen and I am new to this forum and wanted to say hi. I am U.S. born but my family lineage comes from Scotland with existing family currently still there. Love Scotland, been there many many times visiting family and cant wait to go back. Looks like this forum might be a great source for me with plenty of information. I have been doing alot of research about my heritage along with the registering of a family tartan and a supposed clan crest/badge with the help and communication of my family in Scotland. A little about myself, I am a 15 year veteran Soldier in the United States Army. Very Happily married and together we have 4 teenagers and 1 rugrat lol. Currently stationed in Hawaii (very beautiful but traffic sucks) and yes for the most part Im living the dream. To start off, yes 90% of the time I wear a kilt, whether if be my family tartan kilt, a utility kilt or an Army uniform pattern made kilt for physical competitions, I wear it. As a matter of fact pretty much the only time I wear trousers is when I am in uniform doing the Soldier thing. I know my heritage, I love my heritage, but I am not traditional by any means, however I am interested in traditions and the "proper" way of doing/wearing things as they should when the time calls for it. One thing I am interested in learning more about are the highland games. I love competition and think that it is a healthy way of keeping active as well as a great opportunity to learn. I hope you all have a wonderful day and if you have any questions for me or just want to get to know me better, by all means ask. Always good to make new friends.
