New guy from Arkansas
Hi y'all, I'm Scott McClure, I live in Russellville, Arkansas, USA and I'm 43 years old. I've only been wearing a kilt since about 1997 when I finally got into Rennisance Reenactment where I played a Scottish Highlander. I had been interested in my Scottish/Irish heritage but never really got into it as there weren't anyplace in my area (at the time) to do reenactment. I know that I don't have to be into reenactment to wear a kilt, but never had the chance until I started.
Anyway, I love photography (used to be a professional - both studio and photojournalist), the outdoors and I am really into the Boy Scouts of America program. I have been in Scouts for about 33 years now. I got my Eagle Scout and am a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow. I have been a Scoutmaster a few times and am currently an Assistant Scoutmaster with my son's troop. He's 17 and is about to earn his Eagle.
I'm a McClure and am about to order a new kilt in my family tartan. I look forward to being able to wear it whenever I can. The McClure's are also a sept of the Clan MacLeod and am I'm planning on getting a few different kilts as there are several tartans for them as well.
When I was into reenactment, I was "adopted" into the Clan MacGregor and have a Great Kilt in that tartan.
I missed the Arkansas Scottish Festival this year because of work but am looking forward to attending next year.
I look forward to learning more about the kilt, my heritage and to getting to know some of you in the future.

Hello Scott!

My mother was from Arkansas. Her family farmed the bottoms near Yosetown. One of my uncles was still farming not too many years ago. I have an 'Oliver Farms' baseball cap around here somewhere. I was a Scoutmaster for awhile when my oldest son was in Scouting. It takes a lot of time and effort, but can be very rewarding.
Again, welcome to the Rabble!
