New guy in Kansas!

Hi, all. I'm Mike Hasty. I'm a Paramedic Lieutenant living and working about an hour south of the Kansas City metro. As you can guess from my last name, I'm of Scottish descent, at least as far back as the battle of Flodden Field. (That was the oldest written record of the family name I could find.) I recently purchased my very first kilt, and I think I'm hooked.

Hello, Mike, from the Topeka vicinity. Most of my forefathers haled from Miami County. Whereabouts are you? My great-great grandfather Baird served with the Second Kansas during the Civil War (along with other of my abolitionists ancestors.) Fontana, for those who don't know it's south of the Kansas City metro area, was their hometown.
