    New Guy from Oklahoma

    Salutations!

My name is David, and I have a very German last name. I got on a genealogy kick several years ago, and traced my roots back to the first one in my family line to come to the states (Philadelphia, August 27th, 1739). Anyway, in doing so, I learned about all of the Scot ladies that these German guys married. Oddly enough, every single one that I found out about landed in Canada and migrated south to the Colonies. I guess that makes me Scotch/German/Canadian-ish, eh? Beauty.

Anyway, the surnames are Donald, Black, and Kilmichael, although the Kilmichaels changed their name to that when arriving in Canada. I forget what it was before, but I have it written down somewhere.

So that led to learning about tartans, and how MANY there are for the surnames (especially MacDonald), which led me to kilts, and so here I am. Pretty sure I need to start with an olive drab one for my Scout uniform.
