New from Italy
Hi everyone,
I am belgian, born in Antwerp in 1974 and have been playing the GHB for 20 years.
Since 2004 I live in Italy, near Turin...
I have had the same (band)kilt for the whole time since I started playing with the band, except for a few years in which we had a German sponsor whose corporate colour was BLUE and they made us wear a Glasgow Rangers tartan while the sponsorship was going on ... eventually they went bankrupt! I am convinced though that this was not due to the quality of our playing!
Since 5 years or so I play in a little folk group called An Tarbh Rua (Gaelic for "The Red Bull") of which I am the co-founder and I usually play in "plain clothes" but around Christmas time I get lots of requests to play with the kilt...
In the last years I have put on (quite) some weight so my old kilt is getting really TOO small (I already had longer straps fitted two years ago) and this eventually brought me to start looking for a new kilt to buy and I ended up here! I don't think the buying of this second kilt will trigger a run like Hamish's but you never know!
Even the other two male members of my folk group are thinking of getting a kilt to don at our concerts. Not a bad idea I think!
Anyway.... I shouldn't keep going for too long here I suppose as the idea is just to give a quick introduction!
I posted a few pictures as well and I am looking forward to frequenting and contributing to the forum from Italy!
Nice meeting you all and great job to the administrators !!
Since it is December 31st I might as well wish all of you a VERY HAPPY 2011 !!
