New Kilt owner in New Jersey

Well i just bought my first kilt, and honestly i love the thing, but when i put it on i feel as if im wearing it wrong so i havnt worn it outside of my home, cause i dont want to not be wearing it right and not have "the power of the kilt" haha. Can anyone explain to me how to wear it right.

If we may ask, what type of kilt is it: contemporary or traditional? The maker or place from which you purchased it might also help.

Other than that, the pleats go in the back.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Hi and welcome!! Where about in New Jersey do you live? I grew up in Wyckoff, NJ but now I live east of the Hudson River in NY state.
Did you go to any of the NYC Tartan Week events?

    Hello Ron,

Welcome to XMarks from the other side of the Atlantic in Norfolk, England.

The easiest and best way is to take some pictures of yourself wearing your kilt. No one will laugh, but if you have made mistakes then they will be easily corrected.

You are amongst friends here and as the old saying goes "Friends don't let friends wear a kilt badly!"

    Regards

    Chas
