New to kilts from Ohio
Planning a yearly outing next month and im looking for a kilt, however only kilt i've seen in a retail store around here is hot topic (owned by the gap or limited or something) i dont have the change to buy some of the kilts im seeing online nor am i confident enough to pay that amount for something i've never worn before. basically im looking for a kilt around $80 USD or hopefully less since most of what i see is over $200 USD hopeing someone here would have a knowledgeable suggestion. I know most of the people here own quality kilts and are proud of that, but i hope you understand that when you buy your first car it isnt going to be a jaguar.

I think most people here respect that as many of us also started in that boat. My first kilt was a 8 oz PV Bear kilt that I paid $80 for.
A lot of people on this site own and wear cheaper options and high end kilts. However some have put drawn their line in the sand an will never look past it (that goes both ways by the way).
Tell us more about what you are looking for, climate it will be worn in, how it will be worn (ie kilt nights, formal events, rugby matches, etc) and what size you need. Maybe someone on the site has a used kilt they can sell to set you up on the road to kiltdom.

Welcome from Canton, Ohio!
Go to Stillwater or USAkilts for the best deals. You won't regret either choice.
Stillwaters are 24" long (too long for me) but if that fits you (remember, kilts are worn at the natural waist, not where most men wear their pants) its a great deal.
I have to go with USAkilts. I'm 5'7", and their Casuals are INDISTINGUISHABLE from a good wool kilt if you have a vest or kilt belt.
Happy shopping!

Welcome from West Virginia!
I also recommend USA Kilts. I'm quite pleased with my casual U.S. tartan. If you want something that looks less traditional (non-tartan) & inexpensive, try Sport Kilts. I have an Army ACU on order (with the accompanying jonez).
