As new member
As a new member I would like to say Hi to all members of X. I have been a kilted Jock for 26 years now as an Argyll and Sutherland Highlander ( Unhappily Now 5th Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland ) I am an avid collector of all things Scottish and am massively interested in the history and general knowledge of the kilt and believe that this is the best forum there is.
Yours Aye
Tommy

Welcome
Welcome to the forum from a fellow Army guy...American, however. You'll feel right at home here and I'm sure there will be a great amount you can contribute if you've served (or still serving?) in the A&SH. In fact, there was a thread yesterday discussing the 20th century history of the regiment. Make yourself at home!!!

Thanks for the welcome, yes I,m still here plodding along as an old Sergeant Major. I will take a look at the post you mention as it seems right up my street. Who are you serving with?. The last American unit I served with was the 82nd Airbourne in IRAQ in 2004. I should have retired in 2007 but could not face working in the civilian world in the UK. Narrow minded bunch. So I,ve signed up for Long Service until 2022 then I can put my old weary feet up.

Good Point,
Unfortunately the sea faring days of the Clyde Coast and the shipping era are long over but the view is better.
As far as the Nevy goes I,ll say no more::

I know what you mean, "the right way, the wrong way and the Royal Navy's way!" and all that.
