Good day all,
Newbie here hailing from Highland New York in the Mid Hudson Valley. I joined the forum so I could find useful information about the correct ways to wear the kilt and its various components. I get married in a month and that wedding is what prompted me to finally buy my kilt and wear it with my groomsmen. I've finally got all the components for my formal kilt including the Glengarry cap. I've read the thread about the cap and it's fitment and feel I have an understanding about proper wear. My wedding is going to be an outdoors affair and so I feel its appropriate to wear it as long as its properly worn. I was unable to acquire my family cap badge in time for the ceremony, but it is on order.
A little about me, I'm Deputy Chief paramedic of a local town ambulance department, my Mom was Scottish, Dad primarily English and perhaps Irish decent. A mutt by most definitions as my families have been in the US and Canada for hundreds of years now. I'm looking forward to finally get my kilt from the kilt maker and wearing it proudly with my brother and fellow groomsman.
Sorry if Im a little wordy, I just want to make my first post and look forward to participating on the board in the future.
Thanks to all
Jim aka medic56
