Bought my first kilt from USA Kilts about 10 years ago and only wore it on special occasions. Started wearing it at Boy Scout science camp at night.
Bought several Utilikilts from ebay over the years, almost all of them showed little wear. Started to wear it at more occasions, including my professional society chapter meetings held in Philadelphia, and at their annual international conference. When you try to help people remember you wearing a kilt helps!
I would wear it more often, but the wife objects. Wish I could figure out why.

Fairly new to this lot myself - but not new to Kilts. Welcome!
You do, indeed, need to determine the wife's disfavor as to you wearing a Kilt. (tis a problem I am not acquainted with).

Welcome from the English Midlands. My wife is uneasy about my kilt-wearing - she likes the look, but feels it is very conspicuous (which I suppose it is!).

Well met and welcome new friend. My wife could probably tell you why she doesn't like me wearing my kilt as often as I want to (she just won't tell me). I just smile bigger when the subject comes up and listen to her reasons. She wins more often than I do (because of good judgement). And yet, I persist. Glad to have you with us.

Wives and Kilts
Quite frankly my wife's opposition to me wearing my kilt is getting somewhat tiring. Maybe I will start a new thread for a wider discussion.

I have similar issues as my wife doesn’t like it worn at the top of the knee. I am expecting a mid-knee length kilt in the coming weeks and will wait to see if her opinion changes, she keeps showing pictures of it worn at bottom of knee and below and there is absolutely no way I am wearing it that low as i think that would look terrible on my short legs.
