New member from Texas
Howdy! I've been lurking for a couple weeks. I am a Campbell from Scotland, separated by a few hundreds years and a few thousand miles. Also, I am a Texan!
I currently have one kilt in Campbell plaid. It was made for me on a trip to Scotland by a friend's mom who had made kilts for the Queen's husband (Prince Philip). I plan on getting at least one more as my wife is a Bruce. While I haven't worn the kilt often, I did wear it to my buddy's wedding for the first time as a tribute to his mom and dad. I need another one, but want a real heavy weight--military surplus is looking good if I can find one in my size and fit.
Found the site looking for a kilt for my brother by seraching for kilts--great place! Everyone is friendly and helpful...from what I've been reading. Sorry that this is my second post; my first was to admire a homemade copper kilt pin in the DIY section--that pin was inspiring! What talent this forum has...

Welcome from Afghanistan (for about 7 more days....but who's counting). I don't know if you're aware of it, but if you're looking for heavyweight military kilts, take a look at What Price Glory...they have great deals on regimental weight kilts.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
