New from Milwaukee
Hi, I'm a new member from Milwaukee WI. My legal name is Cornelius McLean Sterling, I grew up known as Neil, but for the past 30 years, for reasons that would take too long to explain, have been known as Cory (prefer the Neil, but how to go back?)
Been wearing the kilt for a couple of year, enjoy Scottish Country Dancing for almost a year now and love it. Love opera and baking (cooking in general) and for the last 8 years have made my living as a baker at a local supermarket.
As for a first question, would anyone know of a source for a leather glengarry? I found one on line, but saw a warning against that company (that is how I actually found this site, something I'm very grateful for).
Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.
Neil

Welcome to the "Great Rabble"!
Out of pure curiosity, why would you want something as unusual as a leather Glen?

The Milwaukee Scottish Country Dancers have a Halloween Dance each fall...it would be for something I'm planning for that. As I don't know if anyone from our group is on this site, I'd prefer not to say more until after the dance

Well met Neil. I don't know about leather Glengarries, so sorry for that. However, caps have been discussed in great detail among older threads. Perhaps, man-made "pleather" could substitute (perchance the cap is to complete a costume). The Glengarry is an easy pattern to duplicate. Forgive me if I am making assumptions, it is not my intention.
Most of us, like Father Bill, wonder why a wool cap will not fulfill your need; as curiosity is innate among this group.
Glad to have you with us.

Welcome from a Scotsman living in the English Midlands. Can't help in your quest for a Glengarry, but good hunting!
