New from New Rochelle, NY (not Rochelle France.....)
I am a native 100% New Yorker........, which means my heritage comes from everywhere. 23 and Me tells me I am 75% Irish, 10% German, the rest... who knows.
Through my family tree the 75% Irish, the McKillop's were originally Scott (MacKillop), a sect of the MacDonald's. Coincidentally, my Sister-in-Law's grandmother was a MacDonald (it looks like we keep our relations in-the-family).
My best Scottish story ("Tale") happened in 1970 while visiting relatives in Edinburgh. My mom dressed my up in a kilt, it was a school uniform, and she took me to the castle to take pictures of her "Young Scott". I was mortified when a tour bus pulled up and everyone piled out to take pictures of me, the "small Scottish boy in a kilt." Mom was a little embarrassed too. She confided in one of the tourists that I was from New York visiting. That tourist laughed at mom, told her she was from New Jersey, and when people back in New Jersey see the picture they won't know the difference. Henceforth in my family I have been the "Little Scott Boy" from New York.

Welcome from a Scotsman living in the English midlands. I have had people approach me in Edinburgh to have a picture taken, and also have more than once been mistaken for a tour guide!

Welcome.
Are you a Scott (the Borders clan/family - my avatar is the Scott Red Modern tartan) or a Scot (the nationality/ethnicity)?
