A new year and first time wearing a kilt
Hello everyone.
I am new to the forum and new to wearing a kilt.
Funny enough, I have actually had a 5.11 Tactical Kilt in my closet for a long time, but sort of forgot it was there. My wife and I have been in planning for a trip to Scotland, which triggered my memory and so yesterday I took the plunge and wore it out for our shopping errands.
Overall, it was not nearly as intimidating or awkward as I had feared it might be and I did get some smiles and compliments.
However, I think I may have embarked on quite a journey as I look at more traditional and likely expensive future purchases.
Thanks for having me.

Well met new friend. The baby steps were taken when you bought the Tack 5.11. You walked into a store without a helping hand. It sounds like you'll be running soon (metaphor for future kilt purchase and wear).
Welcome from those that have crawled into the kilted company of Rabble.

Hello and welcome from Alabama!
You have found a unique and very knowledgable group here, who are genuine, honest, stubborn, fantastic, the works. My advice, take it slow, take the time to read the different threads. Appreciate vs. appropriate. Over time, your vision of what it is your 'style' will take shape. If you are a human, then even that will change given enough time.

Thank you...I intend to learn as much as possible and hopefully find/evolve my own style.

Welcome! The 5.11 Tactical Kilt is a great casual option. I bought one for myself on Black Friday in BDU Khaki, and I had it hemmed locally from the standard 24" length to 21".
