Shortly before we left California my wife and I stumbled upon his home in Martinez; completely by accident, just happened to be driving by, saw it, stopped to see what it was. Turned out to be a wonderful experience. A few days ago while out driving in East Lothian we stumbled across his birthplace, serendipitously completing the circle.
