Newbie from Chicago
My name is James Edward Wilson MD a pain specialist from the Chicago area
I'm NEW! This post is a result of one of those American "I'm going to find out where I came from moments" which was followed by Ancestry.com searching and tracing my Wilson roots to the Aberdeenshire area.
It turns out Charles Wilson 1758-1836 (Kinnemonth) was put into prison (wrongly I'm guessing ) for stealing half a guinea from a fellow named Hugh Stewart.
He is my great X 5 grandfather.
I'm hoping to take it farther than this...looking forward to clues as to what rocks to look under for more family history.

Well….Naperville is close enough to Chicago….welcome t' the grooup.
Your GGX5 was wrongly imprisoned? EVERYBODY in the joint will tell you that they've been wrongfully imprisoned….but, no doubt, there was some misunderstanding about that half a guinea.
