A newbie from the Football Hall of Fame city of Canton Ohio

Hello one and all. Let me introduce myself; I'm Fred from Canton Ohio. I'm 54 soon to be 55. I've been a widower since 1995. I raised three daughters on my own. I was, I am and I always will be a Cavalry Scout.

I first started wearing a kilt when my wife and I became involved in the Society for Creative Anachronism. My deceased wife made my first kilt using the instructions from Folkwear pattern #152. I've worn a few great kilts. I've read the the X-kilt instructions, the how to make a cargo kilt on Instructables as well as Barbara Tewksbury's bible ... Oops ... book several times ... now I just need to remember where I put it because I want to try my hand at making utility kilt. Any advise anyone would care to share would be greatly appreciated.

Well met Fred. What fabric have you decided for your utility kilt? A recent thread had some good pro and cons for a variety of materials. Keep us updated as you progress (photos appreciated). Welcome and thank you for your service.
