Newbie from Mississippi Gulf Coast, USA
Hello, I've been following this forum for a couple of years. Finally got around to setting up my profile. Coates is my last name. I believe that is a Sept of the Clan Farquharson. I am interested in geneology but I haven't been able to trace my paternal line further back than 1750 in the USA. Many other branches can be traced overseas and they all go back to some part of the British Isles. Nevertheless, I've been interested in all things Scottish. I have been playing the pipes for about 3 years, also Celtic harp for about 3 years also. I own 3 kilts. Have worn them whenever I play the pipes or harp and at special occasions when I am not playing (Celtic music concerts, St. Patrick's Day parades, etc.).
I've been following the forums for a while and picked up a lot of good advice. Thanks for all that and I'm glad to be joining you all (y'all LOL).
