Newbie in Sydney
Just found the forum today, as I was doing some research into a new kilt, and have been immersed for hours - I'm sure I'm going to love it here.
I got my first kilt as a 6 year old growing up in Stevenston, and then as a teen I got my first "proper" kilt with a hand stirtched Hunting Stewart when I joined the pipe band.
Over the years I've drifted away from wearing the kilt, but I'm giving my sister away at her wedding this year, because my dad just died, so I ordered an outfit today. Unfortunately I left it to late to get my clan kilt, Kyle, as it appears to be a custom weave only, so I'm getting a district tartan - the Ayrshire.
